Our Work
Designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates, the 6000 square foot traveling show opened at Discovery Times Square in the spring of 2011.The immersive environment chronicles the events leading up to and the aftermath of the epic volcanic eruption 2000 years ago. With over 250 artifacts; some of which have never been displayed, as well as the largest collection of body casts; this exhibition was described as both “fascinating and chilling” by Newsday magazine and was awarded the 2011 Creativity International Award for Environmental Graphics. Maltbie was responsible for the pre-production, fabrication and installation of all exhibits.
